Navigation Pane
A live outline of every heading in your document with optional page numbers, section review statuses, and any Excel links nested inside - all clickable to jump straight there.
When to use it
- Jumping around a 100-page offering memorandum without scrolling.
- Reviewing which sections are done, in review, or still pending.
- Seeing every Excel-linked table or value inside a given section at a glance.
- Confirming page numbers for a table of contents handoff.
- Refreshing a single linked value without hunting for it in the body.
How it works
- 1Click SkySuite on the ribbon to open the AI Assistant pane.
- 2Switch to the Navigate tab at the top of the pane.
- 3Click any heading in the outline to jump to that section in the document.
- 4Toggle Show page numbers to populate page references next to each heading.
- 5Toggle Show section status to flag sections as Done, Needs Review, or Not Done.
- 6Expand a heading to see the Excel-linked content inside that section - click to navigate or refresh.
Tips & shortcuts
- Section statuses are saved inside the document, so they survive sharing and reopening.
- Page numbers fill in gradually for long documents - the pane stays responsive while Word repaginates.
- Right-click a linked item to refresh it or open the source workbook.
- Page numbers are cached per document, so reopening the pane is instant after the first load.
- The pane highlights the heading containing your current cursor position automatically.
