PDF/Image to Text

Pull text out of a scanned PDF, a screenshot, or an image pasted into your document and insert it as editable Word text - no retyping.

When to use it

  • Lifting clauses from a scanned PSA or lease PDF into a working draft.
  • Capturing text from a screenshot of a property listing or photo of a sign.
  • Converting a faxed or printed page into editable text for redlining.
  • Extracting table data from an image of a rent roll or T-12.

How it works

  1. 1
Click PDF/Image to Text in the SkySuite ribbon group.
  2. 2
If you have an image or shape selected in the document, the tool reads from that selection.
  3. 3
Otherwise, pick a PDF or image file from the file picker that appears.
  4. 4
Wait for the Processing... progress indicator while the text is extracted.
  5. 5
The recognized text is inserted after your current selection in the document.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Higher-resolution scans and screenshots give noticeably cleaner results.
  • Multi-line images are returned line by line - you may need to reflow paragraphs after insertion.
  • Works on a single file at a time - run it again for additional pages or images.
  • The original image stays untouched - only the extracted text is added to the document.
